Asphalt Cleaning Tips

Pressure washing may seem like the best solution but repeated use damages your asphalt’s top layer exposing it to all sorts of elements. It is better to simply wash and hose it down.
Microbial asphalt cleaners, like Beyond Green, are ideal for removing stains for your asphalt driveway as well as dawn dish soap on oil and chemical spills.
Household chemical cleaners should NOT be used to clean stains – solvents will damage your costly investment. However, Dawn dish soap is an excellent choice for stain cleaning.
Avoid scrubbing asphalt with metal wires or brooms
Use a baking soda and water combination to remove mud from your asphalt driveway
Always spot test your cleaning supplies before use – some may not be compatible with your driveway’s sealant
Clean spills asap to prevent them from soaking deep into the asphalt.

From start to finish, they were a great group to work with. Not only are they professional, but they are good people.... If integrity, honesty, and quality are important to you, you won't be disappointed here. When paving day came, the paving machine had a breakdown about half way into the job. Now I'm no paving expert, but I'm sure there are different ways to "seam" it if they chose to come back another time to finish it. Instead, they without hesitation tore up the part they had already done to start over on another day. The owner told me it was the best way to "do it right". - I don't know, they could have told me anything but they wanted their work to be right! And MAN! If you want to see guys work hard and as a team, hang around and watch! Without speaking much, they are all constantly moving and anticipating what the 'next' thing that needs to be done and just goes to do it without being told. I spoke to a few of the guys working, and they all like working for the owners, and stated the owners cared about how it's done which is why they stay working at Blacktop Concepts. There is something comforting dealing with a family owned business. Blacktop Concepts, Dan Spadino and family, provided... me confidence for replacing our 30 year-old driveway. I was concerned with the poor drainage issues with the existing driveway due to limited slope from the garage to the street and severe pooling that developed, particularly during the spring snow melt. They assured me that could be addressed. After removing the old driveway, it was discovered the concrete block footings under the front of the garage slab were deteriorating. We discussed the options and determined it was best to provide poured concrete filling and extend a concrete apron. Blacktop Concepts referred me to Lasting Impressions Concrete to address that need prior to finishing the base preparation and doing the final paving. The final product looks great and while I’ll need to wait until the spring snow melt to see what happens, I’m confident the driveway will properly drain.Both crews that did the prep work and the final paving were diligent to pay attention to details. It was obvious they were committed to producing a great product to meet/exceed my needs and positively reflected on their company. I was also grateful for the extra work, not specific to the driveway, by Joe Spadino, that greatly enhanced our landscaping and laying sod plans. I realize that isn’t the work they are focused doing but, in terms of being customer focused, they listened, answered a need and exceeded my expectations.
